About Us
Who are Ginkgo Productions?
Ginkgo Productions is a small and highly-skilled film-making team based in Ballarat, Australia. Simple, quality equipment. Classic techniques used well. Ginkgo Productions is the brainchild of husband and wife team Jarrod and Emma Hall. While Jarrod is trained as an artist and arts/media teacher and Emma a Stage/Event Manager, for the last 8 years or so we’ve been making films.
Our Story
We started off working with NTD Television shooting news stories and living in South Korea - it was while making profile and in-depth current affairs stories focusing on individuals that we began our love affair with telling human stories.
After several years, we started our own travel blog, Korean Rooftop Travel, and produced a short documentary about traveling around an island by bike with our ten year old son, Sebastian. This was featured at the Korean Expat and Indie Film Festival and the International Bicycle Film Festival in Berlin.
Several years ago we moved back to Australia and we started looking for ways to continue making films about people with passion, and Ginkgo Productions was born. Now we spend our days creating great films with small businesses, entrepreneurs, and NGOs.
